Transparent Menubar NOT Transparent At All
The new “transparent” menubar in Leopard is not actually transparent. Try putting an icon on your desktop partially underneath the menubar and you’ll see what I mean. The icon disappears, it doesn’t show up half-blurred under the menubar. All that menubar is doing is applying a quartz filter to a second copy of the desktop image that you’re using. That is quite silly and annoying. It makes the whole idea of this transparent menubar seem useless and just plain bad. Enjoy, Alex.
