Logging All Out-Of-The-Ordinary Mac Activity
I don’t know if I’m just a bit crazy or if this is actually a smart idea, but in the past 15 days I’ve started to use an iCal calendar to log all odd behaviors that my MacBook exhibits. This has started to include any application crash or system-tied “not-responding” warnings. When I restart the MacBook and why (since it almost always is on, just asleep), and even tasks I need to do with it, which are primarily backups. I figure that using a dedicated iCal calendar for this task will let me automatically mark the date of the occurrence, and let me easily hide the entire log using the checkbox in the calendars column. I know that some may think this an odd and crazy idea, but it may very quickly come in handy for debugging/ AppleCare needs if a serious problem arises. So you can either laugh at this idea, or use it yourself, but I just wanted to get the idea out there. Enjoy, Alex.
