Odd Xcode Architecture Issues

After migrating over to my MacBook my two Applescript applications and the one other application that I had been helping with just wouldn’t build to a universal binary. The two applescript applications refused the i386 binary and the other application refused the ppc binary. An annoying (but successful) fix has been to recreate the projects and manually replace the nib files. Of course, that seems a bit not-neccesarry of a solution. Has anyone else run into this issue? Does anyone know another fix for it? It’s a bit late for me to fix the issue any other way than remaking the projects, but suggestions may help others who read this blog and are having the same problem that I had.
