Fast Navigation

/ 28 April 2007

A quick navigation tip for Mac OS X is to use your keyboard. This can seem a bit odd at first, but in the end will be much nicer and increase your productivity by making simple navigation faster. When in any folder, menu, or save/ open dialog you can type the name of a file, folder, or item and it will jump you to that file, folder, or item. It ends up being a hard thing to get used to because the typing has to be done fairly fast to register as one word. If your navigating menu items and the menubar as a whole you can also use the arrow keys to navigate directly.
