Spotlight iPhoto Issue

When searching system-wide for images, you’re able to open them in Preview. Oddly, however, images that reside in your iPhoto library try to open inside iPhoto and some of the time fail to do so. In those cases you get iPhoto activated and your first photo brought into the Edit mode but nothing else. Have any of you noticed this issue?
