Wicked Turn Syndrome (WTS)

This is a problem that I’m having with ALL my mindstorms creations, that their wheels will make them turn far off when their code is telling them to go straight. Anything and everything I try seems to end in the same result, the robot turning dramatically. Aside from the NXT compass sensor do any of you know ways to diminish or get rid of this extremely problematic “syndrome”. Thanks, Alex
