OS X Software To Avoid Installing

/ 3 October 2006

Below is a list of currently three pieces of software NOT to install, I’ve also given the reason(s).

  • Front Row for non-Ir macs — after final reboot YOU’RE MAC WON’T REBOOT UNLESS THE HD IS WIPED AND YOU REINSTALL THE SYSTEM AND YOU’RE DATA.

  • iScroll2 for iBooks and Powerbooks v0.25 and 0.26 — a little while after setup, you’ll have continual Kernel panics.

  • Spark — regardless of you’re hot key settings, it will block the shift-1, etc. key commands for typing.

Though I hope it doesn’t, this list is likely to grow a lot lot lot more in the next few weeks.
