Software Update Tip

/ 15 August 2006

You may not consider this a tip (you may consider it a problem) but here is the “tip”. In my last entry I mentioned copying PhotoBooth onto my computer, that same day the owner of the MacBook ran though the software updates, and there was one for PhotoBooth. Okay, so I went and ran my computer though the software updates, no updates at all. I came to the conclusion (now the tip/ problem), if you simply copy an application from one computer to the other, with no package instals, you don’t have the tag file for the software update, even though you do have the help files. So consider this a tip, or a problem, but if you can help it (which you can’t for PhotoBooth) use packages, not pure copies.
