NXT Open Source Kit

Apparently Lego is planning to release separate from the NXT a open source (free) devoloper download that will include the complete editable NXT firmware, and a set of helpful devoloper tools to write your own remote mini-apps. This would allow you to write your cell phone an app for control over the NXT. It may also fit well with Dashcode and be able to make a Dashboard remote. Lego says the download would be available right around the NXT release date (either a week and half from now, or two months from now (August). The compatibility of this kit is uncertain. I’d hope it’s mac compatable, but it may be just for windows. But if it is mac compatable, I’d hope that it is compatible with the current mac developer tools version (which is universal and includes Dashcode (but is only out for the Macbook Pro) for a Dashcode download see my entry on it).
