Time Machine And Sleep Times

/ 8 December 2007

There is a serious issue with Time Machine and sleep times. If your mac won’t sleep for more than an hour of inactivity then it will never sleep during the night as long as the disk is attached and mounted. This is because of the hourly backups schedule that Time Machine uses. So to have your mac sleep through the night you need to set it to automatically sleep in just 20 or 30 minutes. Enjoy, Alex
