Ringtones Now Enabled

/ 12 September 2007

I was just playing some music in iTunes and happened to scroll to the top of the source list. A new library item titled “Ringtones” was there. Along with that an item to safely disable the source is in the “General” tab of iTunes preferences. What’s so odd is that there was no update, nothing, and they just got enabled. That makes sense given the iTunes Store integration, but that Apple did it is a bit interesting. It means that there is clearly a lot more control that Apple has though the iTunes Store over what does and doesn’t get used in iTunes. Anyway, you can now officially create ringtones in iTunes for use on the iPhone. Enjoy, Alex.
