The OS X Dock On Top

/ 27 December 2006

You can easily change the Dock’s position to left, right, or (as default) bottom, but did you know that the top was also an option? Here’s how to make this change: Step 1; open “Terminal.app” (located in /Applications/Utilities), Step 2; type “defaults write com.apple.Dock orientation top”, Step 3; press return, Step 4 type “killall Dock”, Step 5; press return. Your dock will now come up from below the menubar. You should note that the interface for changing the dock’s position will still say the dock is in it’s old position.
