Exploding Batteries, Not Necessarily Apple’s Fault

/ 17 August 2006

You may have heard recently about laptop batteries (or lithium-ion batteries in general) causing the device they power to be badly hurt, or explode. But I know a hint that may explain these rare incidents, Apple’s batteries can hold a certain amount of power, but some third-party companies manufacture batteries for Apple laptops that can hold up to twice the amount that Apple’s batteries can. Not many users know of these batteries (or need them) and so them causing the laptops to explode would be less than 1% of all users.
