Typing Windows And The Front Row Keyboard Command

/ 15 May 2007

I was just using TextEdit to edit a document and just out of curiosity pressed apple-esc, the keyboard command to enter Front Row on macs that have Front Row installed. Since my iBook doesn’t have Front Row installed I thought that it would do nothing. To my absolute surprise the window displayed a list of word endings for me to choose from. The same thing happens in MarsEdit, so I’m sure that it’s a system-wide feature. Does anyone know where the control lives for this command so I can change it’s keyboard shortcut to work when Front Row is also in place? I’ve tested it on my dad’s MacBook and Front Row does (of course) take over the keyboard shortcut.
