Going Though The “Recent…” Menus

/ 28 April 2007

When looking for a file you used recently the Apple menu’s item isn’t the only place to look, but it is the start. All applications have their own “Open Recent…” menus, so as long as the application you opened and edited the file is in the Apple menu’s “Recent…” menu, then the file is as well. In this way it’s a maze though recent menus to get to the desired file. Sometimes this can be faster than navigating to the file in Finder.app or performing a Spotlight search for it (it also guarantees that the file is opened in the same application it was before).
